Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you take insurance?
I do not currently accept insurance but provide documentation (receipts, invoices, and “Superbills”) for you to be reimbursed by your insurance agency for out-of-network providers.
  • How much do you charge?
Fees vary based on services but currently the cost is $250/hour for individual therapy sessions, $300/hour for assessment services (paid by retainer at the beginning of the assessment process but only AFTER your free consultation and a discussion of the anticipated fees), and $400/hour for forensic assessment services. I also offer a sliding scale for clients who have different financial situations and am an approved expert witness for 18-B Court evaluations in New York State (meaning the state will pay for a predetermined fee for my services). Fees for consultation and supervision vary based on state and group size.
  • OK, I think I want to try this therapy thing. How do I start?
Please contact me either via phone, email, or this website to make a request for an initial phone consultation. Therapy is all about fit – let’s talk to make sure I can provide you with the services you need and we’ll take it from there!
  • Do you have a sliding scale?
Definitely! We all have different financial situations, at different times in our lives, and finances should not keep you from getting help. I require proof of income (either tax returns or pay stubs) and base my fees using the US federal guidelines on poverty. Additionally, I am an approved expert witness for 18-B Court evaluations in New York State (meaning the state will pay for a predetermined fee for my services).
  • My child’s school says they need to get tested. Do you do that?
I do conduct some testing which may be accepted by your child’s school; however, different school districts vary on what they require and will/will not accept. Please contact me for a free consultation so that we can discuss your individual needs and what may be best for you and your child.
  • What kind of testing does my child need?
That depends on what your child is experiencing and how they are behaving. Contact me, and we can discuss in a free phone consultation what type of testing may be appropriate for your child based on the information that you are trying to learn.
  • Do you do ADHD testing?
I do, however, there is no “one-size-fits-all” test for ADHD, as there are many different factors that affect an individual’s ability to pay attention and concentrate for adequate periods of time. During your free phone consultation we can discuss exactly what type of testing may be helpful to tease out whether ADHD is an appropriate diagnosis for you or your family member.
